Snug 17th century pub with an oak beamed restaurant in a converted cattle barn. Serving an array of cask and craft ales to complement its classic and modern fare. The Wheatsheaf Inn, Raby, is probably the oldest public house in Wirral. Distinctive due to its thatched roof, black & white construction, open fires and extensive outside areas.

About The Wheatsheaf Inn and Cowshed Restaurant Raby

The Wheatsheaf Inn, set in a rural location with award winning real ales and excellent locally produced seasonal food.

Neatly presented above our front door is the Datestone of The Wheatsheaf Inn, clearly stating ‘1611’. We know the building was rebuilt after a fire at this time and although no exact information exists, local historians have suggested the building could have been an inn as far back as the 13th century, perhaps as a place for travellers to rest before crossing to Ireland from Parkgate.

A fitting dish for the Cowshed Restaurant, our Tomahawk steak special, perfect for sharing, or for one very hungry individual
